Why no Cannavaro in Italy blue?

The agent of Napoli’s Paolo Cannavaro has again questioned why his client is being ignored by Italy boss Cesare Prandelli.

The tactician named his squad at the weekend for the Holland friendly, but, despite the absence of Juventus’ Leonardo Bonucci and Angelo Ogbonna of Torino, the Naples-based stopper was not selected.

“I’m struggling to understand why Sampdoria’s Daniele Gastaldello is in the squad and not Paolo,” Gaetano Fedele told Radio CRC.

“Paolo is demonstrating that he is a player worthy of the national squad, that is without a shadow of a doubt.

“Personal problems with Prandelli? Absolutely not and the CT has worked with him in the past at club level.”

Paolo Cannavaro, brother of 2006 World Cup winner Fabio, played under Prandelli during a spell at Parma.
