Ezequiel Schelotto admits his move to Inter has been a long time coming. “I always wanted to join this club, though there were some difficult moments during negotiations.”
The wing-back completed his transfer from Atalanta on Thursday, although he had been linked with the club over several years.
“I always wanted to join Inter, though there were some difficult moments during negotiations. I am finally here and it feels like I’ve been here forever because my teammates, club and Coach have been close to me from the first moment,” said the Italian of Argentine origin.
“I am very happy with my decision. I have already spoken to Andrea Stramaccioni, he explained what he wants from me and I will repay his faith.
“I never feared the move wouldn’t go through. My agent and family told me I’d need to be patient, but what’s in the past is gone and I am just focused on the present.
“I was happy at Atalanta and obviously they would’ve preferred to keep me to the end of the season, but I had to make a life choice. Inter gave me this opportunity and all I can say to the town of Bergamo is thank you for everything you’ve done for me.
“I sweat buckets for Atalanta every day and Inter is a train that doesn’t pass by every day. I have always said that Javier Zanetti is my idol. I need add nothing more, for you know what kind of a man he is both on and off the field.”
