Sampdoria boss Delio Rossi is relieved that the January transfer window has finally been closed.
Although the club did use the session to bring in Gianluca Sansone from Torino and Matias Rodriguez from Univesidad de Chile, the club spent most of last month trying to keep hold of Mauro Icardi and Andrea Poli.
“Icardi and Poli were wanted players and I think that should make us happy,” the tactician noted.
“However, the two of them know that their future now depends on what they are able to show with Sampdoria.
“Fortunately the transfer session is now over, but it is only right to remind everyone that we are not a supermarket.”
Doria turned down a deadline day bid form Napoli for Argentine striker Icardi.
Meanwhile, the club are understood to have reached an agreement with Juventus over Poli. The midfielder will move to Turin in the summer on a co-ownership basis.
