Mauro Icardi has a lot to live up to after the Sampdoria man was compared with Gabriel Batistuta by his agent.
The 19-year-old has had a stunning 2013 so far after scoring twice in the 2-1 win at Juventus and then grabbing four in the 6-0 over Pescara.
Icardi is being talked about as the possible heir to Diego Milito at Inter, but his representative sees a likeness with another Argentine great.
“In terms of characteristics, I’d say Icardi is the new Batistuta,” Abian Moreno told Inter Live on Wednesday.
“Inter? We haven’t spoken with them or any other clubs. He has a contract at Sampdoria until 2015 and that is all that matters right now.”
Icardi, formerly of Barcelona, could soon find himself at the centre of an international tug of war between Argentina and Italy.
