As Philippe Coutinho joins Liverpool, Atalanta’s Ezequiel Schelotto confirms a deal is done with Inter. “I’m very happy.”
The Nerazzurri had tried to reinvest the money from Coutinho to snap up Paulinho, but the midfielder announced he has turned down the transfer so he can play the Copa Libertadores with Corinthians.
Instead, it seems as if Inter have found their reinforcement with Atalanta and Italy winger Schelotto.
“I don’t want to get ahead of myself because there’s still nothing official, but I can say I am very happy for these negotiations that really do seem to have reached a conclusion,” he told Sportitalia.
The 23-year-old was born and raised in Argentina, but has been in Italy since 2008, has Italian relatives and opted to play for the Azzurri.
Schelotto, nicknamed The Greyhound due to his pace, has played for Cesena, Atalanta and Catania.
