Inter are ready to sacrifice Philippe Coutinho to Liverpool or Southampton to raise funds for Paulinho, who Corinthians point out will cost €20m.
So far the Nerazzurri have turned down all offers for the creative midfielder, but it’s reported in Italy that they are ready to release him for €15m – around £12m.
This cash would then be used to tempt Paulinho from Corinthians during the January transfer window, but time is running out ahead of Thursday’s deadline.
“At the moment, Inter have not made contact with us,” Corinthians director of sport Roberto de Andrade told Calciomercato.it.
“I can assure you we have not received any offers from Italy, nor from Chelsea for our player.”
It is reported that Paulinho’s contract includes a buy-out clause worth €20m.
