The Premier League interest for Inter starlet Philippe Coutinho continues, as it’s reported Southampton have out-bid Liverpool with £10.2m.
It is well known that the two clubs, and Aston Villa, have approached the Nerazzurri this month to sign the Brazilian.
So far Inter have resisted all offers for the 20-year-old, who spent six months on loan at Espanyol last season.
According to the Daily Mail, Southampton have increased their proposal to £10.2m – around €12m – and it could be enough to trigger a sale.
The Saints have the upper hand now that they’ve appointed manager Mauricio Pochettino, who worked with Coutinho at Espanyol last term.
It would be a club record transfer for Southampton if Inter were to accept.
