“I don’t think Barreto has 90 minutes in his legs yet, but this is a game that suits his characteristics. I don’t know yet if he’ll start or come off the bench,” said the Coach.

“This match will be played at a high tempo, so I have to consider physical as well as tactical situations.

“Despite numerous problems, Pescara are a side who won the Serie B championship last year and are also doing very well this season. They seemed like one of the prime candidates for relegation after a few weeks, but have won in Florence.”

Toro are fresh from a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Siena, achieved without eight first team picks.

“It was a great performance, although obviously one can always do better. At the end of the game I said I was proud of this group and I reiterate that concept.”

Torino are still mutating during an active January transfer window.

“There will be another two sales, because we have some elements who haven’t got much playing time and will be very important for Torino in the future. It is only right that they go elsewhere to grow and return even stronger.

“Those who arrive here will have to be better than those who are already in the squad.”
