Gianluca Grava admits he and Paolo Cannavaro were “crying with joy at the end of a nightmare” after they were cleared of match-fixing charges.
The players were given six-month bans and Napoli docked two points, but they won their appeal and were exonerated this evening.
“When we spoke on the phone, Paolo and I were crying with joy,” Grava told the official club website.
“This is the end of a nightmare. Only we can know how much we suffered and what we felt during this month.
“It felt like a nightmare I couldn’t wake up from. I feel immense joy and am happy that justice has been done.”
Both players are available to play from this weekend against Fiorentina.
