Pescara revelation Juan Fernando Quintero has revealed a desire to join Italian giants Inter amidst links with Manchester United.
The versatile midfielder has caught the eye of Europe’s top clubs following his move to Italy in the summer.
Asked by the Gazzetta dello Sport about a possible switch to Old Trafford, the 19-year-old spoke of a future in Serie A.
“United? No, I like Inter,” said the former Envigado and Atletico Nacional youngster. “I prefer the Nerazzurri because they have a lot of South Americans at the club. And I’m happy in Italy.
“Saying that, it is clear that I would not turn down other strong teams because I’m ambitious: Manchester, Milan, Juventus…
“I’ll decide with my family and with my agent.”
Pescara are set to take up their option to sign the Colombian outright once his loan deal comes to an end – and then sell him on for a reported €10m.
“I don’t know if I am worth that,” he added. “I still need to learn and work hard. I need to improve as a player.”
Quintero is currently away on international duty with the Colombia Under-20 side.
