Lazio striker Miroslav Klose has admitted that only in Rome has he understood the real meaning of a derby.
The Biancocelesti beat their city-rivals Roma 3-2 earlier in the campaign, and the German goalscorer has revealed that the game is one of the most intense he has played in.
“The Rome derby cannot be compared to those in Germany,” he told Lazio Style Channel. “Only here have I learned what the true meaning of a derby is.
“It is something fantastic – the emotions that we were feeling the weeks before and after were amazing.
“To see the faces of the fans smiling was something really special. That's why we play football, to make people happy.”
