Napoli have beaten Palermo and Torino in the race to sign Siena forward Emanuele Calaio, reports claim.
The Azzurri had initially asked for the player on loan, with a clause that would force them to buy him outright in the summer should they qualify for the Champions League.
Palermo and Torino meanwhile had offered €2.4m.
Late last night, the Azzurri contacted the Tuscan minnows and agreed to match the offer made by the two other Serie A clubs.
An official announcement could be made on Friday. The 31-year-old will thus return to Napoli, a club he left in 2008 for Siena.
