Milan fail in Roma duo bids

Roma have responded negatively to Milan’s reported attempts to sign Mattia Destro and Maarten Stekelenburg.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the Diavolo are keen on netting the young striker and the Dutch international ‘keeper this month.

Milan are said to have offered €15m for the Italian international who only joined the Giallorossi in the summer.

They also asked the capital club to consider a swap deal which would see Marco Amelia head to Rome in exchange for the former Ajax custodian.

Roma don’t want to sell Destro, while they are looking to cash in on Stekelenburg after he lost his place in Zdenek Zeman’s first team plans.
