Atalanta and Genoa have reportedly positively concluded talks that will see Thomas Manfredini and Michele Canini swap clubs.
Manfredini, 32, will move to the Marassi outfit at the specific request of boss Gigi Del Neri given that they have worked together in the past.
The defender had appeared in 15 League games for the Nerazzurri this season.
Canini, meanwhile, is a 27-year-old centre-back who only moved to the Rossoblu in the summer from Cagliari.
The former Under-21 international knows Bergamo well seeing as he is a product of the Atalanta youth system.
However, the stopper never made a professional appearance for Atalanta – the club he joined as a seven-year-old.
