Pescara chief Daniele Sebastiani has revealed how desperate he was to sign Mattia Perin in the summer. “I did somersaults for him.”
The Italian Under-21 international joined the Serie A new boys on loan from Genoa and was largely responsible for their 2-0 win at Fiorentina on Sunday thanks to some stunning saves.
“Perin is confirmation that we at Pescara are not afraid to give youngsters a chance,” he said of the 20-year-old.
“I did somersaults in the summer in order to bring him here because I knew that he would play and that we would get value from him.”
The goalkeeper, who spent last season at Padova, has been linked with a possible future at Milan or Napoli.
