Lotito: 'If Lazio want Lampard...'

Lazio President Claudio Lotito commented on their links with Frank Lampard. “When we look for a player, we usually get him…”

There have been numerous stories suggesting the Biancocelesti have made an offer for the England midfielder, who is out of contract with Chelsea at the end of the season.

“Many players are linked with us, but we are always on the market for those who we believe can improve the potential of the squad,” said Lotito on Sky Sport Italia.

“The newspaper stories are little more than bar talk. We only consider a player to be ours when we have registered his contract with the authorities.

“I won’t say anything on Lampard, but just that when we look for a player, we usually get him…”

Inter are also hoping to tempt Lampard to Serie A, but Lazio appear to be in the lead.

Mauro Zarate has been frozen out after refusing to sit on the bench and is awaiting a January transfer.

“I don’t like players who set ultimatums.”
