Napoli have a transfer decision to make – whether to sign Inter’s Matias Silvestre or Cagliari’s Davide Astori this January.
The Azzurri are looking for a new centre-back given that Paolo Cannavaro and Gianluca Grava were recently handed six-month bans as part of the match-fixing betting probe.
The Stadio San Paolo outfit have also sold Salvatore Aronica to Palermo this month.
Silvestre is a player who could be made available by the Nerazzurri given his lack of playing time since leaving Palermo in the summer.
Meanwhile, Cagliari are expected to sell one of their big players – Astori, Radja Nainggolan or Mauricio Pinilla – in an effort to ease their financial issues.
