Palermo transfer guru Pietro Lo Monaco announced they have “a verbal agreement” with Genoa to take Ciro Immobile, pending the Marco Borriello row.

Pescara had also shown their interest in taking the Italian Under-21 international forward, who spent last season on loan at the Stadio Adriatico.

“Will Immobile arrive? The deal is already well known,” director of sport Lo Monaco told TRM radio.

“We have a verbal agreement, but it could all get complicated because the market always reserves a few surprises.

“In fact, the Borriello situation has rather put the brakes on negotiations. If he were to leave, then Genoa would keep hold of Immobile.”

Borriello was dropped for yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Inter after a reported row with director of sport Rino Foschi, though Genoa only confirmed he was left out due to “disciplinary reasons.”
