Alexander Merkel has agreed to leave Genoa for Udinese in January, reports the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The German youngster will move to the Stadio Friuli in a co-ownership deal as part of the agreement that will see Antonio Floro Flores return to Marassi next month.

Genoa’s Ghanaian defender Masahudu Alhassan, currently on loan at Novara, will also move to Udine after Christmas.

Merkel, 20, returned to Genoa in the summer after a spell at Milan, but he has only made six Serie A appearances so far this season.
