Lazio boss Vladimir Petkovic has confirmed that Mauro Zarate won’t be selected for the Coppa Italia game against Siena. “He’s excluded himself.”
The Argentine has rarely featured for the capital club this season and Petkovic says that he won’t play tomorrow night after failing to respond to his call-up for the Inter win on Saturday.
“He’s put himself out of things,” the Coach noted. “He won’t be called up for tomorrow night’s encounter.
“He’s asked to be placed to one side and is currently training on his own. We’ll see what happens next.”
The 25-year-old returned to the Stadio Olimpico in the summer after spending last season on loan with Inter.
However, he has made just one League appearance so far this term under Petkovic, while scoring once in six Europa League matches.
The forward has been linked with a January move.
