Zago to assist Zeman at Roma

Antonio Carlos Zago will reportedly return to Roma to act as an assistant to boss Zdenek Zeman.

The 43-year-old is set to leave his role as Coach of Second Division Brazilian side Audax to head back to Italy at the start of 2013.

Zago was a defender for the Giallorossi between 1998 and 2002 and was part of the team that won the club’s third Scudetto.

Zeman knows the player well as he was in his squad during his first stint with the Italian giants.

Roma have one of the worst defensive records in the Italian top flight with 27 goals conceded. Only Genoa, Cagliari and Pescara have let in more.
