Palermo have reportedly been in top secret talks to tempt Manchester City into releasing 20-year-old striker John Guidetti.
According to Tuttosport, Rosanero general manager Pietro Lo Monaco has visited Manchester to hold negotiations for a January switch, though it’s not yet clear whether that would be a loan or a permanent transfer.
Still only 20 years old, Guidetti is a Swedish international with Italian and Brazilian heritage who was hugely impressive on loan with Feyenoord, scoring 20 goals in 23 games.
British media claim he is on the verge of a loan switch to Sunderland, so Palermo are hoping to offer him Serie A football instead.
It would also be a bit of a gamble, as Guidetti has been out injured for months.
