Former Lazio and Inter Coach Gigi Simoni has commented on their crucial Serie A clash, claiming that the Nerazzurri have a slight edge.

Andrea Stramaccioni's side travel to Stadio Olimpico to face the Biancocelesti this weekend, and the 73-year-old has claimed that the Milanese giants should be considered favourites.

“Lazio – Inter will be a balanced game,” he told Radio Mana Mana Sport. “But I think the Nerazzurri have something extra.

“It will be a battle of two very different teams – one [Lazio] that, if they play like they did last night against Bologna, I would not be keen on.

“I am a small Lazio fan, but last night they showed that they're not in the same class as the other top teams.

“Inter instead are a team that are growing. On Sunday [against Napoli] they played well, but weren't entirely in control.”

He also commented on the battle between the two Coaches.

“Vladimir Petkovic is someone that I really like,” he said. “He's nice, says things in a logical way and shows good behaviour.

“Stramaccioni instead works well on a human level – with the players and with the President. He seems like a good man and does not make enemies, which always helps.”

The former Juventus midfielder then remarked on some of the key players that will influence the match in the capital.

“Miroslav Klose is a really good player, and when he is not involved, the whole team suffers.

“The Nerazzurri though have players like Fredy Guarin – he is a player with a great shot and fantastic ability.”
