Vladimir Petkovic warns his players and the other Europa League teams that Lazio “will play to win” away to Maribor.
The Aquile are already qualified for the next round of the competition, but have no intention of sitting back in Slovenia tomorrow evening.
“We are facing a strong squad, but we want to win and will play to win, as that is our mentality,” assured the Coach in his Press conference.
“We will give our all because we care about this competition. Don’t forget every match is important for us and for Italian football to improve the co-efficient. There is prestige in being seeds in the draw.
“I am not concerned by the cold weather in Slovenia, as the squad is ready and capable of dealing with any situation.”
Miroslav Klose is out injured and replaced by Libor Kozak, most likely with Sergio Floccari in a 4-4-2 system.
It has been four months since the summer glut of friendly defeats, when they were struggling to absorb new Coach Petkovic’s ideas.
“A lot has changed since then. We have found our identity as a team and are more aware of our capabilities. If I think back to the summer, we have come a very long way.”
