Mattia Destro will graduate in how to become a top striker under Zdenek Zeman at Roma, says Giuseppe Sannino.
The latter bossed the Italian at Siena last season until both men left for new adventures in Serie A.
“It is as if Mattia is studying at the university of Zeman,” Sannino, sacked by Palermo this season, told La Voce Giallorossa.
“The Coach is a teacher from whom to learn from. Attackers score a lot under Zeman and he needs to take it all in.”
The Italian international did have a problematic start to the season, but his brace at Siena on Sunday saw him reach four goals in Serie A this term.
“His position doesn’t matter,” Sannino added. “Mattia needs to improve in all the attacking roles at Roma.
“But he’s already demonstrated that he is good enough for the Giallorossi. Even in the games that he didn’t score, he still proved himself useful to the cause.”
