Mattia Destro was happy to get on the scoresheet for Roma on Sunday – but he wanted more than one goal.

The Italian netted his second of the championship with the only net-rippler of the game in the win at Pescara.

“We could have scored so many more,” the Italian international added. “Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to put the ball away.”

Destro was Roma’s big summer signing, but he had lost his place in the first team over recent weeks after struggling for form.

“When the Coach gives me a chance then I just look to give my best for the goodness of the team,” he added.

The Giallorossi are now fifth in the table after collecting their third win from their last four encounters.

“It was an important win at Pescara,” the former Siena man noted. “They were three fundamental points that we happily took.”
