Bergodi handed Pescara job

Cristiano Bergodi is the new Coach of Pescara after Giovanni Stroppa resigned following the weekend defeat to Siena.

Bergodi has beaten Franco Colomba to the job and he will be presented to the media on Tuesday afternoon.

The former defender, who spent five years with Pescara as a player, has agreed a deal until the end of the season.

Bergodi, who also appeared for Lazio, has never bossed in Serie A. He worked for Modena in the second tier last term.

Pescara are in relegation trouble having picked up just 11 points so far this season.
