Andrea Ranocchia should beat Walter Samuel to a place in the Inter starting line-up against Cagliari this weekend.
Both centre-backs have been out of action since the 3-1 win at Juventus, but they have returned to training this week.
However, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Ranocchia should be preferred to the Argentine by boss Andrea Stramaccioni in his 3-4-3 system.
Inter’s back-three could be constructed of Juan Jesus, Ranocchia and Matias Silvestre.
