Sampdoria stopper Daniele Gastaldello has backed Ciro Ferrara to get them out of their current slump.
Doria, who started the season with three straight wins, are hovering just above the relegation zone after losing their last seven League games.
“He’s a splendid guy and we are all with him,” the centre-back told Il Secolo XIX. “He’s not to blame…
“He sits on the bench, while us players go out there on to the field of play. We are responsible for the results.”
Ferrara’s job is believed to be at risk after the 2-0 loss at Palermo – and there could be consequences after the derby against Genoa next weekend.
“We are players and we just have to think about playing,” the Italian continued. “The club is in charge of certain decisions.
“All we can do is try to improve by training in the most serious way possible.”
