Mazzarri: 'Napoli have heart'

Walter Mazzarri praised his Napoli squad, reassured fans on his health and stated “we play with heart.”

There were concerns for the Coach, who underwent heart tests last week and reportedly needs angioplasty on a clogged artery, as he was repeatedly seen touching his chest during the 4-2 win at Genoa.

“We play with heart, that is why I put my hand on my chest. I am fine, I feel good, I can assure everyone,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

The Partenopei were twice trailing at Marassi, but kept coming back for the victory.

“I train an exceptional group of players. There is a real sense of union and we all care about each other. I am very proud of these lads.

“It was crucial to get back and win this game, so we did well to stay calm and not lose our heads during a complicated match.

“We now have nine more points compared to this time last season and I am glad to see my team never gives up or stops looking for the victory to the very end.

“We have many resources at our disposal and I am happy that Giandomenico Mesto settled in very well.”

Edinson Cavani has now scored six goals in the last week, so are Napoli too dependent on the Matador?

“He struggled a little more than usual today, so the whole team did very well. Goran Pandev was in phenomenal shape at the start of the season, but has been affected by injuries recently.”
