British newspapers claim Arsenal are making a £30m January bid for Edinson Cavani, but the Napoli hitman’s price-tag is set at £50m.
El Matador hit the headlines with four goals in the 4-2 Europa League win against Dnipro this week and has been unstoppable since joining the Partenopei.
He recently signed a contract extension with a £50m buy-out clause - €63m – but clubs around Europe are still lining up for the 25-year-old.
According to the Mail on Sunday, Arsene Wenger has set his sights on Cavani with a £30m offer, hoping to sign him in January.
That is extremely unlikely, as Napoli will not release their star player mid-season and not for such a low fee either.
Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have already made their interest in Cavani known, while Manchester City, Juventus and Chelsea were also linked.
