Chievo Coach Eugenio Corini admits it’ll feel strange facing off against his mentor, Udinese boss Francesco Guidolin. “We’ll do battle.”

Corini was the Palermo captain when Guidolin was in charge, but they are both on the benches of the Stadio Bentegodi this afternoon.

“I will not disguise that it’s a special feeling for me to be facing Guidolin. He trained me and we shared great moments together.

“Udinese are angry and fired up by their defeat in the Europa League, but so are we after losing 5-1 at Milan.

“I think the team reacted well to that setback. There is that pinch of regret, disappointment and even rage – but those are all useful ingredients in football.

“We must analyse defeats carefully and understand how they developed. This is the way to construct the next match in the best way possible. We are ready to do battle with Udinese.”
