Fiorentina’s medical staff have confirmed Stevan Jovetic will not be fit to face Milan, as his injury requires “10 days” out.
The Montenegro international limped off during the 4-1 win over Cagliari and suffered a muscular problem.
“Stevan has a Grade I strain to the soleus muscle, so it has nothing to do with the knee that underwent surgery,” explained chief medic Manetti.
“There is absolutely no chance he could play on Sunday, even if the lay-off will be only 10 days considering the situation is not too serious.
“He has already begun treatment and we can hope he’ll be back in a week.”
Jovetic had initially been ruled out for two weeks.
