Milan could bring in benchwarmer Lucio from Juventus to solve their defensive problems in January, according to newspapers.

The Corriere dello Sport claims Adriano Galliani has set his sights on another bargain buy for the mid-season transfer window.

Lucio surprised everyone when joining Juventus after terminating his Inter contract in the summer, as many expected him to go abroad.

However, he has barely featured for the Turin giants and there were already reports of a January exit.

Once again, it’s possible the Brazilian will cause an upset by turning down moves to South America or Turkey in order to join another of Inter’s great rivals.

Lucio can play in a three-man defence or four at the back, while he is a non-EU player who would cost close to nothing for cash-strapped Milan.

The preferred target would be Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, but Montpellier are still refusing to sell the defender despite the fact his contract expires at the end of the season.
