Paul Pogba says that Juventus boss Antonio Conte could become as successful as Manchester United’s Sir Alex Ferguson.
Pogba knows all about the Scot given their time together at Old Trafford, but he’s been quickly won over by the ability of Conte after arriving in Turin this summer.
“Could Conte become a pillar of the international game like Ferguson? He certainly can,” the 19-year-old told Tuttosport.
“He’s a great Coach, a great manager. I speak with him and all of the coaching staff. He tells me that I have to improve and he is right.”
Conte – currently suspended until December – has a reputation for training his players hard, but Pogba insists he’s used to the methods used at Vinovo.
“It’s not really a question of how tough training is, it is not as if we messed about at Manchester...” the Frenchman continued.
“I always give my best and that is the only way to get the maximum.”
Pogba was given a start in midweek and he impressed, as well as bagging the winner, in the 2-1 success over Bologna.
“I, like all players, just want to play,” he continued. “I don’t know whether it will be hard for me to beat the competition of Arturo Vidal or Claudio Marchisio, but that’s not my problem. It’s Conte’s problem…”
