Mattia Destro has yet to open his goalscoring account for Roma – but he’s been hailed as the future of Italian football.
Destro joined the Giallorossi in the summer from Siena, but he’s already been linked with a move to Juventus in a possible swap deal involving Fabio Quagliarella.
“I wouldn’t do the swap if I was Roma,” former Siena sporting director Giorgio Perinetti told the Gazzetta Giallorossa.
“That’s not because Quagliarella is not a good player, but because the potential of Destro is massive,” he added.
“To give him to Juventus would mean handing over Italy’s striker of the future. Roma went for him and I think they’ll keep a tight grip on him.”
