Esteban Cambiasso has a strong record against Catania and feels he has a point to prove. “Many thought I was finished, but I have a long career ahead of me.”
The Inter midfielder is expected to start this afternoon’s Serie A match, having already put four goals past the Elefantini in his time.
“There is a positive atmosphere, but there’s a long way to go this season. Neither the match with Juventus on November 3, nor today’s with Catania are going to be decisive.
“The way we see football, no one single match can decide a campaign. There are some targets we wish to hit, but you don’t know what they are. Only we have set out that timetable.”
The Nerazzurri continue to be pushed forward by captain Javier Zanetti, who is older than Coach Andrea Stramaccioni, but Cambiasso has a bone to pick with critics.
“When will my career come to an end? Many thought I was finished last year, but the way I live my life and how I feel at the age of 32, I have a long career ahead of me still.”
