Former Roma wing-back Cafu has praised club legend Francesco Totti, as well as new boss Zdenek Zeman.

The Brazilian World Cup winner has commended the Czech Coach – who he worked with at the Stadio Olimpico between 1997 and 1999 – and extolled congratulations on the 36-year-old forward, calling him 'a fantastic teammate'.

“Totti is always strong, and as a Roman, fights for the team,” he told reporters at a Champions League Trophy Tour in Rome this morning. “He makes you feel great, and was a fantastic teammate.

“He has done a lot of brilliant things for Roma and for the Italian national team. I have always rooted for him.

“I have some beautiful memories of Zeman,” he added. “We did not win the championship, but we played well and got some great results.

“I'm sure Zeman will find the right way to adapt this team to his style of play.”

The 42-year-old, who left Roma in 2003 to join Milan, also expressed his joy at recently being voted into the Giallorossi's Hall of Fame.

“It is a beautiful feeling. I am very happy to have been asked. It gives me great satisfaction, and I'm enormously grateful for the award.”
