Bologna defender Cesare Natali admits he “felt like I’d been hit by a train” when hearing he’d be out for six months, but is coming to terms with the injury.
The 33-year-old will miss the rest of the season after breaking the cruciate ligament in his knee during Sunday’s game against his former club Fiorentina.
“Believe me, on Monday evening when they told me I’d broken the cruciate ligament, I felt like I’d been hit by a train,” Natali told the Corriere dello Sport.
“Unfortunately, this is part of the sport, even if I’d have preferred to not go through this experience.
“Over the next few months I will be helped by the great spirit of positivity that has always been part of my character. I am sure that I will recover.”
