Palermo’s Abel Hernandez has admitted that he feared he had sustained a serious knee injury while on international duty.

“I’m feeling better now, but I am still in pain,” the 22-year-old continued. “It’s quite badly swollen, I’ve had a scan and now I’m waiting for the results.

“I have to admit that I did initially think that I had done something serious after picking up the problem in a clash with a teammate.

“I have to admit that I did initially think that I had done something serious after picking up the problem in a clash with a teammate.

“I’ve never had knee problems, but the doctors have said that it could be just a simple strain. I’ll now return to Palermo.”

Hernandez has appeared in all seven of Palermo’s League games so far this season, but he has yet to find the back of the net.
