Torino will be without Mario Alberto Santana for at least a month, as tests have found a tear in the thigh muscle.
The former Palermo, Fiorentina and Napoli midfielder pulled out in the warm-up for Sunday’s game against Cagliari.
It was believed he had only suffered a minor strain to the left thigh, but further tests have now confirmed a tear.
This type of injury is expected to keep Santana out of action for around a month.
The Argentine creative midfielder is currently on loan from Napoli.
