Antonio Candreva has thanked his club and the fans following his recall to the Italian international set-up.
The versatile midfielder was included in an Azzurri squad by Cesare Prandelli for the first time on Sunday ahead of games against Armenia and Denmark.
“This call up is a reward for all the hard work which has been done in conjunction with the Lazio squad and technical staff,” he told the club’s website.
“I thank everyone, including the fans, for the support they have given me in the past and will continue to give me in the future.”
Candreva played twice for Italy in November 2009 in games against Holland and Sweden while Marcello Lippi was in charge.
Candreva had his difficulties settling in at Lazio given that he’s thought to be a Roma fan, but he’s been one of their key players this season.
