Vincenzo Montella feels the Della Valle brothers’ enthusiasm is helping propel Fiorentina forward as they take on Bologna in the Derby dell’Appennino.
“We have felt the closeness of the patrons since the start of this project. They set the rules and we are respecting them,” said the Coach.
“We hope to improve in terms of our performances too. Our objectives remain the same and we have to get there step by step.
“I expect tomorrow to see the same approach to the football, but with more consistency and practicality in front of goal. The defenders also have to help out in pushing forward.”
David Pizarro skipped training on Friday due to a knock and is in doubt for the Bologna match, but ex-Manchester City defender Stefan Savic could get his first start.
Montella was also asked about Antonio Conte’s appeal, which reduced his 10-month ban to four.
“If the ban was reduced, then it must be because it was possible. I am happy for him, as I know he’ll be celebrating now.”
