Palermo have dismissed speculation that the club were thinking about dismissing Gian Piero Gasperini after just three games in charge.

Gasperini only replaced Giuseppe Sannino last month, but stories suggested that he could be on the way out after the outfit hired Pietro Lo Monaco as their new CEO.

“I don’t know how stories like this can appear after such a fine win,” Lo Monaco stated a day after the 4-1 defeat of Chievo.

“It’s demented. I can say that Gasperini is staying and he will remain with us next season too.”

The Sicilian giants climbed out of the relegation zone at the weekend thanks to their first win of the 2012-13 campaign.
