Atalanta call for video evidence in a tussle between Gonzalo Bergessio and Stefano Lucchini. “If six referees didn’t see it, then we need 10...”
There was an off the ball incident during Catania’s 2-1 win at the Stadio Massimino last night, as Bergessio appeared to throw a punch at Lucchini when they were waiting for a free kick.
“If six referees didn’t see it, then we need 10...” noted Atalanta director general Pierpaolo Marino. He was referring to the fact Serie A games have added two goalline officials this season.
“Evidently nobody noticed and I would hate to think otherwise. At the moment we are unlucky in this, too.
“We had taken the lead and were unable to keep hold of the result. In fact, if we hadn’t scored then it probably would’ve ended 0-0, as our goal fired up Catania. In the space of 10 minutes they turned the game round.”
