Argentine defender Facundo Roncaglia celebrated his first Fiorentina goal and sent a message. “I hope Cesare Prandelli calls me to play for Italy.”
The former Boca Juniors man netted a screamer in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Parma at the Stadio Tardini.
“I am happy with my individual performance, but being the first few games of the season any result can be useful to continue our team progress,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“It will be a difficult match against Juventus on Tuesday, but we hope to gain a positive result.”
There are reports Italy Coach Prandelli is tracking 25-year-old Roncaglia, as his ancestors emigrated from Naples.
“I am happy that Prandelli is following my progress. This gives me further motivation to work hard and hope to one day have a chance to play for Italy.”
