Italy 1982 World Cup hero Paolo Rossi believes that Milan are missing the ability of Antonio Cassano.

The latter opted to leave the Rossoneri this summer when he joined Inter in a swap deal which saw Giampaolo Pazzini go in the other direction.

“Cassano is an inventor,” the former Juventus legend told Sky Sport Italia. “He had the inspiration to make the final pass.

“This is missing from Milan this season because Urby Emanuelson doesn’t have these characteristics.”

Rossi was speaking after he witnessed the club’s disappointing 0-0 draw with Anderlecht as they got their Champions League campaign off to a poor start.

“To see a different kind of Milan they will need Robinho, Alexandre Pato and Riccardo Montolivo,” he added.

“This team has no identity, they only created chances thanks to their desire rather than with footballing ideas…”
