Guillermo Giacomazzi has turned down offers from two Serie A clubs to represent Lecce in the Lega Pro.
The Salentini, who finished 18th in Serie A last season, have suffered a devastating double relegation after being found guilty of involvement in the Calcioscommesse betting scandal.
Other high profile players like David Di Michele have jumped ship but Giacomazzi, the club's captain, is remaining loyal.
“I had offers from Parma and Torino in Serie A and Cesena in Serie B, but I find myself well at Lecce and I want to push forward with them despite the difficulties,” stated the 34-year-old Uruguayan in La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Uruguayan international has been with Lecce for over 10 years, with loan spells at Palermo and Empoli in between, making over 275 appearances for the Apulian outfit.
