There are British rumours that Juventus are considering Fernando Torres as an alternative to Fernando Llorente.

Director general Beppe Marotta confirmed today that they are still working on January reinforcements for the attack.

While Llorente of Athletic Bilbao remains the top target, Talksport claim the Bianconeri are also keeping an eye on Chelsea striker Torres.

It would be an unusual move, as £50m signing Torres is considerably more expensive than Llorente and has been very inconsistent in recent years.

Juve picked up Nicklas Bendtner on loan from Arsenal as a stop-gap solution, hoping Llorente can be tempted away from Bilbao in January.

This is because Llorente’s contract expires in June 2013 and his club will be eager not to lose him on a free transfer.

If Juventus were to look at Premier League options, a more likely candidate would be Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko or Manchester United wide attacker Nani
