Enzo Maresca has reminded fans to not get too excited by Sampdoria’s start to the Serie A season.
The newly promoted outfit would be joint top without their one-point deduction, but the new signing is keeping his feet on the ground.
“The truth is that this team has done some great work,” he noted after the wins over Milan and then Siena.
“But we shouldn’t elude the supporters. The objective for this season is to comfortably survive – once we’ve done that then we’ll see what else is on offer.”
The midfielder returned to Serie A action yesterday, after an absence of seven years, following his move from Spain’s Malaga.
